WALNUT VALLEY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT

CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) PRECAUTIONS UPDATE

Update #2: March 12, 2020

We appreciate your patience during this challenging time. We realize this unique circumstance has caused a significant increase in uncertainty and anxiety. Today we are continuing to provide you with the most up to date information on the coronavirus (COVID-19). On March 12, 2020, Governor Newsom provided direction relative to gatherings and COVID-19. It has been determined that gatherings with the potential of 250 or more people should be postponed or cancelled across the state. Therefore, Walnut Valley Unified School District has implemented the following procedures, effective immediately.

SCHOOL CLOSURES

Local K-12 Public School Districts in Los Angeles County, including Walnut Valley Unified School District, are required to receive authorization from Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (Public Health), in order to qualify for consideration of any school closure. While some counties have taken other steps, we are required to follow the directives from Public Health. At this time, all WVUSD schools remain open.

INDEPENDENT STUDY

Our District continues to offer Independent Study for defined circumstances (we have expanded the guidelines to include issues relevant to COVID-19). For additional information on Independent Study, you may contact your school office.
